Since 2001 GarciaBuilt has been involved in all aspects of new home construction. We have built small speculative homes as well as large custom homes. Throughout the years we have gained the knowledge and experience necessary to confidently assist and smoothly guide you through the process of building your home.

Building a home is a long process, it could take anywhere from 5 months to over one year and there are multiple stages required for its completion. For this reason, the relationships between contractor, clients and tradesmen are of utmost importance for a successful process.

Helpful Tips:
1. Obtain proper financing and become familiar with all construction loan terms and conditions.
2. Ensure house plans are to your satisfaction and have all the pertinent information. (Revisions after beginning construction could delay the process)
3. Establish a client/ builder relationship based on honesty an mutual respect.
4. Request from contractor copy of current professional license and general liability insurance policy with adequate coverage.
5. Consult a real estate legal professional if contract terms are unclear or seem unfavorable to you.
6. Create a forum between you and your builder where communication can happen in a timely manner. (Ineffective communication at the early stages could be a sign of things to come)
7. Minimize delays by selecting windows, doors, cabinets, fixtures and finishes in advance.
8. Visit job site frequently, take plenty of pictures, ask questions and be involved.
9. Assure that progress payments to contractor are paid as agreed in contract in order to minimize delays.
10. Demand from builder a Final Payment Affidavit before submitting final payment to ensure all tradesmen and suppliers have been paid.
